BAH 21 “New Moon” wins the 2015 Alpen Cup, regatta that traditionally marks the start of the Intermational 5.5m racing season.
Thirteen boats (representing four Nations: Switzerland, Bahamas, Netherlands and Germany) made the trip to Lago di Garda and Circolo Vela Torbole (CVT) this year. Such a great venue for sailing competitions located in the heart of Europe.
Among those boats, “New Moon” (BAH 21), the newest 5.5mIC delivered to her Bahamian co-owners, Mark Holowesko and Peter Vlasov, by Wilke Boatyard just a short week before the regatta.
With barely a couple of days for training, adjusting a few things and tuning-up the boat before racing started, the crew of BAH 21, composed of the two owners and well-known Swiss sailor and sailmaker Christoph Burger, were able to be very competitive and ultimately bring “New Moon” to the victory.
“A prefect event. Über strong winds, medium winds and light winds on the last day. Great event mainly due to a flawless organization from Circolo Vela Torbole. Super strong competition from Feng Shui and especially from our Bahamian buddies John B.” comments Peter Vlasov after the prize presentation.
