For 2023, the chosen events are: "Alpen Cup" (ITA), "French Open" (FRA), "Salzkammergutpreis" (AUT), "Swiss Open" (SUI) and "German Open" (GER).
Winter is coming nearer, so is the time for the boatshows in Europe.
The first one with 5.5mR presence is just now taking place in Berlin, "Boot & Fun". Yes, written correctly, German "Boot" & English "Fun"!

Prominently placed there is the Classic 5.5 GER 17 "Sünnschien", the Olympic boat for Germany in Acapulco, in 1968. Beautifully refurbished by today's owner, boatbuilder Uwe Baykowski, the boat is in absolute prestine condition.
Jörg Sonntag (WSV 1921) and Georg Kierspel (VSAW) took on the task to represent the Class and welcomed many visitors.
Having had both 5.5mR Classic and Evolution boats presented in Berlin in recent years, the plan is now out for bringing a Modern boat to this boatshow, in November 2023.
For the sailing season during 2023, the Evolution boat 5.5 GER 123 "Fortuna" will be made available to a young team of regatta sailors in Germany, enabling them to participate in the 5.5mR regatta circus.
Young teams from any sailing club in Germany can apply to be the crew for the next year.
Applications can go to netz<at>5point5.de via e-mail. Info on the lucky team shall follow.
